“When climbing the Himalayan Mountains to Mount Everest Base Camp you can do all you can to prepare but the mountains and altitude are unforgiving. It’s you against Mother Nature and you have to keep going, one step at a time. There were times when I truly thought I needed to turn back but I kept saying to myself “mind over matter” and took one step and then another. Every day, 5 to 6 helicopters would rescue extremely fit people off the mountains. From day 3 to day 8, I mostly looked down at my boots and was hyper focused on completing just a few more feet. In reflection, training was so important, this trek was no doubt the hardest thing physically and mentally I have ever done. 

The training and fitness routines I received at K2Strong not only helped me physically but helped me develop the mental toughness and endurance needed to complete my goal in reaching Everest Base Camp and beyond. So after 14 days with temperatures ranging from 68 to -31 degrees F, 84 miles of hiking and climbing to an elevation of 18,600 feet, Thank You…K2Strong and here is your flag flying at the top of the world. Btw, your flag is permanently affixed to the top of Mount Kala Patthar at 18,519 feet. Hope that fellow K2Stronger’s someday can make the trek to see the flag.”

“I am a thirteen year Law Enforcement Veteran. Three years ago I began taking KFX and Krav Maga with Marc Delnicki. I chose to train not only to get into shape, but also to learn how to protect myself, my partners, as well as the public I serve. On several occasions I have had to use the skills Krav Maga has given to me. One incident that comes to mind was the disarming of a knife wielding assailant.
